Get Involved
Whether you want to volunteer in the sanctuary, engage in a citizen science campaign, or become a monetary supporter, there are many ways to get involved with It's Our Wild Nature!

Take a look at our ongoing projects and activities below:
01
Sanctuary Saturdays

We meet in the sanctuary every Saturday morning from 9 am to 12 pm. The day begins with coffee, snacks, and conversation in the sanctuary. After catching up, we transition into working on the land. Ongoing work depends on the season, but typically includes invasive species removal, native planting, and sanctuary upkeep.

Everyone is welcome! Dress to be outside, bring some water, and consider bug spray in the warm seasons.
02
Stream Team
It's Our Wild Nature has a stream team through the Missouri Stream Team program. We focus on cleaning and monitoring the Hinkson Creek, which borders the sanctuary. We typically have a stream team event at the turn of every season. Look for advertisements here, on our Facebook, and email list if interested.

Everyone is welcome! Dress in clothes you don't mind getting muddy or wet and bring water. We will supply all gear needed for cleanup and water sampling.

03
Monthly Meetings

We meet monthly as an organization to review our goals, progress, and upcoming events. These meetings are generally open to everyone, however, we ask only those interested in discussing our long-term plans to attend. An agenda for each monthly meeting will be sent to those interested in attending by email a week prior to the meeting.
Make sure to sign up for our email list if you're interested so that we can send you a copy of the agenda!
04
Research Collaborations
It's Our Wild Nature has partnered with professors at universities in the region to host classes, lab experiences, student internships, and more.

We welcome collaboration with interested parties! Don't hesitate to reach out if interested.
